The Extron TouchLink App is an AV control system application for use on the Apple iPad

. This app provides an alternative point

of control for rooms in which an Extron Touchpanel is already installed.

NOTE: Guided Access can be used to lock the iPad into this app. Guided Access also allows you to disable controls in

the app (for example, disable the action button in the navigation bar to prevent access to Room Manager). For more

System Requirements

The following are required to run the app:

• iPad with iOS software version 5.0 or later

• Any Extron Touchpanel congured with GC 3.5.0 or later and GUIC 1.4.0 or later

• Network connection

Room Manager Screen

Room List — Shows a list of all the room names.

Each room contains a Touchpanel that has

previously been congured to be controlled by the

iPad. Tap a room to highlight it.

Room Properties — When a room is highlighted,

a list of its properties are displayed. None of these

properties can be edited in this screen.

Edit Room List — Allows you to sort or delete the

rooms in the list. Drag and drop a room to a new

position in the list using the reorder icon. Delete

a room by tapping on the minus icon and then on

the delete button that appears in that row.

Add Room — New rooms, each containing a

Touchpanel, can be added to the list.

a. Tap the plus icon. The Add Room dialog and

on‑screen keyboard open.

b. Enter the controller IP address or Hostname.

c. Enter the Web Port. By default, this is set to 80.

d. If the controller has a password, this must also be entered.

NOTE: If an invalid entry is made in any of these elds, an information icon appears. Tap on the icon for more details.

e. Tap Next. The app veries that the connection parameters are valid. If they are not, an error message appears.

f. Enter a Room Name. The name must be unique and can have up to 64 characters (special characters are allowed). If

a duplicate name is entered, the program adds a number to the end of the name to represent the number of times the

name has been duplicated.

g. If more than one Touchpanel is congured on the controller, highlight the correct one from the displayed list.

h. Tap Save. The app validates the Touchpanel selected and adds the room to the Rooms list in the left pane.

Edit Room — To edit the properties of a room, select it from the room list and tap the pencil icon. The Edit Room dialog

and on‑screen keyboard open.

a. The Edit Room dialog lists the same properties as the Add Room dialog except that the existing values are shown. Edit

those values as required and tap Next. If the new information is not valid, an error message appears.

b. Enter the Room Name and select the Touchpanel from the list (see

steps f and g).

c. Tap Save. The app validates the Touchpanel that has been selected.

Delete Room — Highlight the room containing the Touchpanel that is no longer required and tap the Trash Can icon.

Conrm that you wish to delete the room by tapping Delete or stop the process by tapping Cancel.
