
Push and Pull Stream Playback URLs
To verify a running stream, use the templates below to place the stream into the
VLC "Open Network Stream" dialog (see step 6 of "Playing a Pull Stream
using VLC media player" on page158). Substitute the SME100 IP address
for <SME100_IP>. Substitute the destination IP address and port number for
<DESTINATION_IP>:DESTINATION_PORT.

• <SME100_IP> is the IP address of the SME100.
• UDP://@:DESTINATION_PORT is typically UDP://@:60000
• Some dependencies may apply with certain versions of VLC.
• For ES/RTP, SAP is available in "Video only" stream mode.
Playing a Push Stream Using Stream Announcement Protocol (SAP)
In order to play a push stream, the VLC player uses SAP to identify streams on a local
network:
1. Open VLC. From the View menu, select Playlist (see figure 107).
